Fr. Hans M. Olson

Father Olson was born in Portland, Oregon and is the fourth of nine children.  After his family moved to Edmonds, Washington, Father Olson attended Holy Rosary Parish School and graduated from Edmonds High School. He entered Saint Thomas seminary in the fall of 1975 and transferred to the University of Idaho in 1977, graduating from there with a degree in philosophy in 1979.  After completing his Masters of Divinity at the Washington Theological Union in Washington, D.C., Father Olson was ordained at Saint James Cathedral in Seattle, Washington in June of 1983.  

He served as Associate at Saint Alphonsus in Seattle, Saint Luke in Shoreline and Sacred Heart Parish in Bellevue. He was then appointed Pastor of Saint Rose de Viterbo in Longview, Washington where he served for seven years.  Father Olson was appointed Pastor of Saint Joseph Parish in Vancouver, Washington in 1996 which was his last assignment before coming to Saint Mary Magdalen Parish/Saint John Mission as pastor in 2008. He enjoys creating and collecting religious art, gardening and working with wood.

Father Victor belongs to the Missionary Society of Heralds of Good News, India. He entered the minor seminary in 2003 and was ordained a Priest in 2013. After the ordination he chose to serve in the Mission Diocese of Tura and had a very good mission experience. Then he was appointed as Vice rector to the spiritual orientation center in Andhra Pradesh. Later on, he served in St. Mary's Basilica, Bangalore.

In 2017, his missionary journey was expanded from India to the Archdiocese of Seattle, and his first assignment was in Western Grays Harbor Parishes. Now he is here at St. Mary Magdalen as Parochial Vicar. He is very much interested in Charismatic Preaching, artistic work and music. He does his personal prayers and the Holy Rosary every day.


Deacon David P. Alcorta

Deacon Dave was ordained in the Archdiocese of Seattle in 2003; married to Dora, they have a son David and a daughter Alexandria (Sandy) and seven grandchildren. Deacon Dave retired from a career in human services for local, state and federal government and holds Master's Degrees in Social Work and Pastoral Leadership. In addition to serving our parish as deacon, he volunteers for the American Red Cross and is also an author of children's picture books. Deacon Dave enjoys golf, long walks and writing. He and his wife have been parishioners of Saint Mary Magdalen since 1967 and they joined the parish staff in 2006 as co-directors of our parish Outreach Ministry.


Deacon Phuoc Nguyen

Deacon Nguyen was ordained by Archbishop Etienne on December 19, 2020 at Saint James Cathedral, Seattle Washington.  His first deaconate assignment is at this St. Mary Magdalen parish and under the supervision of his pastor Father Olson.  He was born in Dalat, Vietnam in 1963 as the fourth of seven children.  Escaped from Vietnam by boat in 1983, he came to this country under his refugee status.  He arrived in Olympia in 1984, moved to Seattle for study, and currently resided at Everett WA.  Finished his master of software engineering degree at the University of Washington and Seattle University in 1995, he has been working for local companies since then.  Married to Phuong Dang in August 1993, they have four children QuynhAnh, ThaoVi, Tri, and Hieu: all attended St. Mary Magdalen School.  His family has been active in this home parish since 2005.  He also volunteers at the Everett Providence Hospital and local charitable agencies.  He enjoys reading, camping, music, and languages.


Sister Anna Loan Nguyen

Sr. Anna worked for 18 years in Vietnam as a Facilitator of the Word of God and Director of RCIA. She studied in Vietnam, Italy, England and finally completed her education in the U.S. at Gonzaga University, The Epiphany Academy in Pittsburgh and Seattle University. She came to the U.S. in 1997 and transferred to the Sisters of Providence.  She became a U.S. Citizen in 2008. She served at St. James Parish in Vancouver, WA and St. Cecelia's on Bainbridge Island, WA. She has also worked with the Vietnamese Eucharist Youth Movement in Seattle and Everett. Since 2004, Sisters of Providence has had her return to Vietnam to teach 3rd year Sisters of Theology at the Inter-Congregational Dominican Institute of St. Thomas in Saigon.

Ron Enneking

Ron Enneking joined the St. Mary Magdalen staff in June 2014.  He had prior careers in business and public accounting.  Originally from Batesville, Indiana, Ron and his wife, Donna, have lived in Nashua, New Hampshire, and Carmel Valley, California, and most recently moved to Everett from Renton WA where they were members of St. Monica’s Parish, Mercer Island.  Ron has been active in church activities throughout his life, growing up as an altar server at St. Louis Parish in Batesville, IN, attending St. Francis Seminary in Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been a member of various Catholic school boards and parish councils. 

Ron is a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus and has been a member of the Schola Men’s Choir at St. Monica’s.  Ron has a BS-Accounting from Indiana University, Bloomington and an MBA from Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio.  He plays guitar, sings, enjoys reading, sports, meals and wine with friends and family.


Robert Brajkovich

Robert was raised in Northwest Indiana. After earning a Bachelor Degree in Philosophy from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota, he studied Dogmatic Theology at both Sacred Heart Major Seminary and Holy Apostles College and Seminary. Robert has been on staff since 2013 and directs Adult Faith Formation which includes R.C.I.A., Marriage Preparation, Infant Baptism Preparation, and the Sacred Liturgy. In his recreational time, he enjoys reading fiction and poetry, running and competing on the track, cooking and baking, and brewing coffee manually.  Robert and his wife, Christina, are parents to two daughters. 


Rachael Johnson

Born and raised in Yakima, Rachael longed for greener scenery and so attended Western Washington University in Bellingham. There, she double-majored in German and Creative Writing, ran cross-country and track, and attended the Newman Center. The peer-led Theology of the Body classes remained in the back of her mind as she taught English for four years in South Korea. Noticing that the students who struggled the most were also ones who had a challenging life at home, she resolved to equip herself to better serve the family as a whole. She then attended the pontifical International Theological Institute in Austria to pursue a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Studies. She felt called to bring her education back to the Pacific Northwest and is excited to call it home once again. Rachael likes trivia, learning languages, and anything related to superheroes.



Jacob Curran

Jacob was born in Santa Maria, California and comes from a military family. He recently graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in English. He has a long background of teaching and involvement with Youth Ministry, having taught CCD at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Woodbridge, Virgina, chess in schools all across the Seattle area and Confirmation Prep at Saint Mary Magdalene. He is excited for what the coming year has to hold and for the opportunity to teach the faith to young people. In his free time, Jacob sings and plays guitar in a rock band that plays DIY venues all around Western Washington. He is also happily engaged to Emily Blomberg and they spend their time cooking, playing videogames and daytripping around the PNW.


Joel Cummings

Music Director Joel Cummings has been in church music since childhood, singing in choirs at churches across the country from the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston, MA to St. James Cathedral in Seattle. He has been a member of St. Mary Magdalen since 1998 and before becoming the Music Director, held the post of Associate Music Director for 5 years under his father Craig. Mr. Cummings is a classically trained vocalist with degrees from Pacific Lutheran University (B.M.) and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston (M.M.) He can currently be seen as a vocal soloist throughout the greater Seattle area. Outside of his musical endeavors, Mr. Cummings holds an active Washington State Real Estate Broker's License and serves the real estate needs of families throughout the Puget Sound area. He is very interested in nutrition and healthy living, helping others achieve their goals, and personal growth. Mr. Cummings lives in Snohomish, WA with his wife Jaclin and daughters Camryn and Darcy.


Rochelle Staley

Rochelle attended Pacific Lutheran University, and Inland Massage Institute.  Licensed in 2001 as a Massage Therapist, she worked as Lead Therapist and Trainer at Spa Paradiso in the Davenport Hotel, in Spokane.  In 2007 her husband Mark became the Band Director at Cascade High School in Everett. They moved to the west side and she continued to work as a Therapist at Gene Juarez in Bellevue.  After 15 years in that profession, her love for volunteering at St. Mary Magdalen School, where her daughters attend,  led her to working in the Parish Office. She has also been the Wedding Coordinator for St. Mary Magdalen and St. John Mission since 2012.

Bernie has been a teacher, a school counselor, Dean of Students, and an elementary school principal for many years. Altogether, she has dedicated herself to education for over 35 years. Bernie received her Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of Washington in 2006. She loves helping to make St. Mary Magdalen School a safe, fun, productive and rewarding learning environment for our students and families
